Our History
The history of ROBOR dates back to 1843. Originally founded in Bern as Weiss AG, the company was managed by four generations of the same family. In 1943, the company name ROBOR appeared for the first time in old documents. In 1999, the company moved to Wünnewil into today's newly built company building. In 2013, the company MNZ Mechanik-Norm Heil from Bonstetten (ZH) was acquired in a succession. As a second mainstay, the MNZ door dampers for interior design and elevator construction are manufactured at ROBOR from then on.
In 2018, another acquisition: also in succession, we take over the company CHACO Produkte AG in Dübendorf and bring it to Wünnewil. Through this acquisition, we expand our activity into the field of woodworking and now supply customers from Japan through Europe to South America.
In 2026, the two companies, which had previously operated independently, will be legally merged to form ROBOR CHACO AG.
