Due to the pressure build-up inside the pipe, the piston can reach a considerable speed. For this reason, a catcher pipe is installed at the pipe outlet. This reliably slows down the piston. Nevertheless, during calibration, no one is allowed to stand in front of the pipe outlet (safety zone of +/- 30° to the pipe axis).
