calibration piston

The final inspection of the pipe is carried out using the calibration piston. It serves as a permissible test specimen in order to meet the standard requirements of the VSE. Its diameter is the nominal pipe diameter -10%.

If the calibration piston is not continuous, the position of the fault location can be determined using the blown-in line length. Before starting corrective work, it is recommended to test the pipe from both sides to ensure that there is only one fault location.
