For the acceptance of newly laid pipes, the plate piston is inserted first. The rubber sleeves remove any remaining dirt from the pipe when blown through. Any deformations of the pipe become visible on the control star (the plates bend, but can be bent back again). The diameter of the plate piston is the nominal pipe diameter -10%.
