The name "Schleusenwinde" (sluice gate winch) has become established over the years. Strictly speaking, however, it is actually a "Schützenwinde" (penstock winch), as in hydraulic engineering, "Schützen" (gate valves/sluice gates) are used to dam watercourses and regulate flows. The sluice gate winch is mounted on a horizontal beam or profile. It therefore differs from the wall-mounted winch, which is attached to a vertical wall.

Sluice gate winches are supplied unfinished (standard), primed, or painted red. An optional corrosion-resistant 2-layer paint finish is available, allowing the customer to specify the RAL color of their choice.

Although we also stock sluice gate winches in standard dimensions, they are usually custom designs with individual dimensions and drive types.
